For many children, visiting Santa in his grotto and whispering in his ear the gift they crave for is all part of the magic of Christmas. Many shopping centres and department stores, as well as plant nurseries, welcome visitors to their grottos from early December onwards.
With twinkling lights and Christmas carols, it can be a lovely way to kickstart the festivities with the kids.
